Brian Michael Jenkins is senior adviser to the president of the Rand Corporation and one of the world''s leading experts on terrorism at an international level. As a captain in the army he was a member of the special forces in Vietnam. In 1996 President Clinton appointed him member of the White House Commission on Aviation Safety and Security. He was an adviser to the National Commission on Terrorism (1999-2000) and is the author of many books including International Terrorism: A New Mode of Conflict.
