He is a Professor at the Faculty of Law and of Islamic Studies in the University of Sarajevo, as well as President of the Constitutional Court of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has taught in the fields of the general history of law and the state, the history of Islamic law, the history of Islam in the Balkans, and the encounter of Muslims with modernity.
