He was ordained a priest on 19 December 1976. After obtaining his PhD in 1990 from the University of London, he was nominated General Secretary of the Episcopal Conference (1994-2000) and has been a member of the Investigation Commission of Human Rights Violations of the Federal Government in Nigeria (1999-2001). He was ordinated Bishop in 2011 and he was appointed to the Diocese of Sokoto, Nigeria.
