Nathalie Bernard-Maugiron, jurist, is Director of Research at the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRM, UMR 201 Développement et sociétés) and member of the Scientific Committee of the Institut d’Études de l’Islam et des Sociétés du Monde Musulman (IISMM) at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris. Her research focuses on the process of democratic transition in the Arab world, on family law, and on the judicial system in Egypt and in the Arab world.
