Professor of History at Georgia Southern University and delegate of the Asia Council at the same university, he earned his PhD degree from the State University of New York. His studies are focused on South-East Asia and Islam in the Philippines. He is the author of Culture and Customs of the Philippines and many scientific papers, including Embracing the Pejorative, Challenging Authority: Resistance in Philippine, Africa & African Diaspora and Shiite Contexts (to be published).
