A priest of the Armenian rite, he was lecturer in Armenian language and literature at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice and lecturer in Armenian ecclesiastical institutions at the Oriental Pontificial Institute of Rome. He is the author of nunerous scholarly articles, principally on the Armenian world, and thirteen monographs.
