A monk of the Little Family of the Annunciation, he lived in the Middle East for a long time. His research focuses on Ancient Syriac Christian literature and Classical Islamic sources. He cooperates with the National Office for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue (UNEDI) of the Italian Bishops’ Conference (CEI). In 2013, he obtained a PhD from the Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies (PISAI) in Rome. His dissertation was published the following year with the title Il lato segreto delle azioni. La dottrina dell’intenzione nella formazione dell’islam come Sistema di religione, etica e diritto. His publications include also Leila nella tempesta (2016), Simeone e Samir. Dialoghi notturni tra un cristiano e un musulmano. In fuga (2019) and Allah. Come si insegna, come si vive (2019).
