Katajun Amirpur is professor of Islamic Studies at the University of Cologne, Germany. Her research focuses on the Iranian intellectual history, gender relations in Islam, Islamic reformism and Shi‘ite Islam. She is the author of Reformislam. Der Kampf fur Demokratie, Freiheit und Frauenrechte (2018).
