Born in 1944, he was ordained a priest in 1968. He studied philosophy and music, obtaining his PhD in Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in 1972. He is currently President of the John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family, and Full Professor of Fundamental Theology at the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy. He is also a Consultor to the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelization, and Member of the International Theological Commission. He is author of numerous books and articles, both scholarly and for a broader general audience, especially in the areas of theology and aesthetics, as well as music production.
