Sadek Hamid is an independent scholar who has held teaching and research positions at the University of Chester, where he received his PhD, at the Liverpool Hope University and most recently at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies at Oxford University. He is author of Sufis, Salafis and Islamists: The Contested Ground of British Islamic Activism (2016) and co-author of British Muslims: New Directions in Islamic Thought, Creativity and Activism (2018).
